PREVIOUS TUTORING EXPERIENCE
I have privately tutored for a high school student in the Champaign area. She was a sophomore in high school and I've tutored her since the beginning of the 2018 school year and am still tutoring this student for the next years. I tutored her in all subjects, specifically math, chemistry, biology, English and history. I also tutored for Mathnasium which is a math tutoring company from 2016 to 2018. I taught all ages of students and specifically specialized in SAT and ACT math as I've received a 800 in SAT math and 36 in ACT math. I've also taught at Mathus Academy and have been tutoring in Neuroscience since the summer of 2019.
WHY I WANT TO TUTOR, HONORS AND AWARDS, 3 FUN FACTS
Why I want to Tutor:
I will help students by using various study techniques and by also teaching using various techniques. Every single person is a very different learner and a technique that may work for one person may not work for another person. In the past I have tutored math for all ages up to Freshman year of college. I have learned that some people are more keen to learn through the proper organization of material while others can learn through connections of material. I hope to use these two overall ideas in order to help students really thrive in their classes.
Honors and Awards:
UIUC MCB Honors Program
UIUC James Scholar Program
Fun Facts about Me:
1. I have been practicing Tae Kwon Do for the past 12 years and have been teaching classes for the past 4 years.
2. I really enjoy learning about neurology/neuroscience. Specifically the brain and the way in which it functions along with the various diseases and disorders that may affect it.
3. I enjoy trying new things and allowing myself to explore more about the world and the society that we live in.
